In February of 1953, a story appeared in Adventures into Weird Worlds entitled "Terror in Town". It was actually the sequel to the story "The Vampire Maker" that had appeared in the December, 1952 issue. But to a little boy born in 1946, this story seemed complete enough. And very important.

It was the first hint that I was right about the world. That people who had been labelled "evil" could be good, and those thought "good" might be bad. It also taught me that there were at least a few people, such as the author of the story, who saw through the facade and weren't afraid to face it and share their knowledge. Even with children!

I made it my life's goal to find these people and join their cause.
